My Eye on IKAT!

IKAT: (E-Kat) n. a process of weaving cloth with dip dyed pigments to create intricate patterns. Origin: Central Asia, esp. Uzbek region on Afghanistan border. Jon Robshaw has bright, spirited IKAT patterns in his line- check out his entire collection.

IKAT pillows from UZBEK, a country on the border of Afghanistan.

I'm working on a collection of IKAT pillows for a project and I am so inspired with the different patterns and the regions in ASIA that produce these beautiful and colorful fabrics. These countries make pillows, rugs, wall hangings, bedding, clothes, even saris from India are made with IKAT fabric.
