A Deliciously Sweet Visit to the Cote d'Azur...

My friend Maria recently returned from a trip through Europe. She invited me over for a night of photos, stories of her travels, a fashion show of the fabulous finds she brought back, and of course, another treat was a taste from the Cote d'Azur... A beautiful illustration of the Cote d'Azur in the South of France.

Maria visited a world known confiserie- a sweet shop in the South of France. The outside view of Confiserie Florian located in the Cote d'Azur-opened in 1949. Daily tours show candied fruits, crystallized flowers, dried chocolate-dipped fruits, jellies and marmalades, etc. made in an old-fashioned factory style setting! How quaint!

This quaint interior of Confiserie Florian- beautifully merchandised!

Bowls of darling petite clementines and slices of citrus peels ready to be dried and sugar-coated...I tasted these tantalizing treats- just heavenly!

More bowls and bowls filled with these beautiful fruits grown in the Cote d'Azur!

The marmalade and jellies are delicious- my favourite was the rose petal jelly- how truly divine!

I love this photo of the beautiful pink rose petals- just waiting to be dried! Imagine the sweet scent!

Look at the color of these dried rose petals- love it!

This photo shows the crystallized flowers - rose petals, violets and verbena leaves. Another delectable treat- the sugar-coated roses are my favourite!

Boxes and boxes of chocolates...Yum!

Ooh! Chocolate-dipped fruits and dried chocolate-dipped fruit peels!

The photos of the food are wonderful and remind me of my trips to Europe. European markets and shops have such wonderful food presentation and it seems like it can be found at every corner.
