Moroccan Inspiration

One of my favorite design styles is Moroccan or Eastern influenced design. I have Eastern influence in my own home, and I like to add touches of Moroccan or Eastern influence in my client projects. Here are some examples of Moroccan/Eastern design that inspires me! Christopher Maya designed this living room for a client- love the Moroccan tea tray table! (House Beautiful)
Moorish style doors with mosaic tile facades are a favorite!

Here is a gorgeous facade and window in the Moorish style.

Moroccan interiors and Riads, which are Moroccan homes with garden courtyards, usually have fountains made with intricate mosaic tile designs.

In Morocco, showers and tubs are tiled in these mosaic patterns- entire rooms, wall to wall will be tiled to the ceiling.

I love these Syrian inlaid mother of pearl dining chairs seen in Elle Decor Magazine!

I have a collection of Moroccan tea glasses at my home and my design studio- in different sizes and colors, they are great for display, for beverages, as votive holders, to hold makeup brushes in the bathroom and as fresh flower vases too! (Christopher Maya, House Beautiful)

West Elm has a great product line that is Moroccan inspired. This Moorish motif is a great design for an area rug!

Here- one of the books in my library, we also carry this book at my design studio.

Vintage hand-carved Moroccan doors can be installed to courtyards, as front doors or interior doors in a home.

Vintage Iznek Suzani fabrics are so beautiful in any room!

A vintage Suzani blanket draped on the back of a neutral sofa adds that needed touch of pattern and color.

Fun Moroccan star lights! Room designed by Amanda Lovell. (featured in House Beautiful)

Below, a doorway has Moorish details while an upholstered screen mimics the shape. A blown glass with iron lantern and bone inlaid table complete the Moroccan look. Designer Christina Rottman designed this home in Montecito. I love her style- authentic Moorish and Moroccan details. Her designs reflect the Santa Barbara style- Mediterranean, Spanish, Andalusian.

Loving your blog Michelle. Wouldn't some moroccan style pouffes fit in nicely? We have a very similar taste it seems!
