The weather is fabulous...warm with a touch of a cool breeze at night...perfect for dining on the patio... Start with a refreshing wine spritzer made with pinot grigio, sparkling water, orange & lemon zest {the recipe is Giada's on the Food Network site}

Make a delicious penne frittata with basil and ricotta... {from marthastewart.com/recipes}

Fabulous paired with a grilled red pepper and goat cheese salad... {marthastewart.com/recipes}

For dessert grill peaches served with sour cream sweetened with brown sugar...top with crumbled amaretti cookies... {marthastewart.com/recipes}

Inspired by Red...

Working with red colour combinations...so bright and cheery...skipping out early today to go to the park for a picnic with my daughter Chloe and our two Italian Greyhounds Apollo and Athena...just look at the fresh lemonade, berries, quinoa muffins and pudding- yum! This would be great to bring along on our picnic...{wish I had time spent in the kitchen}...

Weekend Getaway...At Crystal Cove...

The family and I love to visit Crystal Cove...the cottages are darling, the ocean view is spectacular and what could be more relaxing than strolling on the beach past "the famous Beaches cottage" -from the movie Beaches of course! The kids search for crabs crawling in the cove rocks and hike to the Shake Shack for their favourite strawberry shake. It's nostalgic...it's simple beach living and we just can't get enough when life gets crazy...

Small Is The New Big...Loving The Latest Issue Of House Beautiful!

It is always with great anticipation that I wait to see the front cover of the next issue of House Beautiful. And this month I had an even greater anticipation to see the July/August issue with Newell Turner taking the reigns! House Beautiful never disappoints...Newell has done a fabulous issue...Small Is The New Big- wow! Is it ever...so much beauty, incredible design & style packed into the smallest of spaces! One of my favourites...this tiny space with a gorgeous bedroom below...

A Quaint Summer Getaway...In The Catskills...

I found the most darling cottage. It's located in the Catskills. The story was featured on the New York Times website recently. The owner is Sandy, she did a lot of restoration and decorated with flea market finds and decor from artisans who create lovely handmade accessories to give herself a quaint getaway...
